Callbacks:
Callbacks consist of a 2-week workshop with both the UnTheatre UnSemble members and Greg Allen, the creator of the format and the show. This intense and fast-paced hands-on workshop culminates in a performance devised from the plays you have written. You must be available for the callback workshop as casting will be determined at its conclusion.
The Callback workshop runs:
August 12-23: 7pm-10pm weekdays
Sat. August 17, 10am-5pm
Sun. August 18, 10am-1pm with a BBQ immediately following
Sat. August 24, 1pm-11pm includes an invited presentation at the conclusion of the workshop

Please be prepared to perform two original pieces approximately 2 minutes in length that reflect in truth who you are, how you express yourself and how you process the world around you. Bring a hard copy of those pieces with you.
Seeking:
6-15 UnSemble company members who will write, direct and perform plays as well as assist the company with organizational needs such as marketing, technical support and any additional production requirements. Please note that this company presents Neo-Futurism and as such aims to present actual life onstage by creating a world in the theatre that has no pretense or illusion. In short, you are who you are, you are where you are, you are doing what you are doing and the time is now. We are looking specifically for diversity in viewpoints from perspectives of race, politics, gender identity, religion, physical ability, and age. Due to the rehearsal schedule and the nature of the work to be done we are only auditioning performing artists who are over 18.
Salary:
UnSemble members earn a profit share of 40% of ticket sales per performance amongst the cast and differing shares of annual profits per additional work done throughout the season. New company members must make a six month commitment to the company - not necessarily consecutively - of six 1-month long periods of your choosing.
Rehearsals and Performances:
Rehearsals are 2 nights per week for 2-3 weeks prior to and during each run (runs are anywhere from 1-6 weeks in length). Additional workshopping sessions may be required throughout the year.
Important Information:
Please note that there is no "home" theatre. UnTheatre Co travels throughout Southeast Michigan and plans to travel throughout the state. This is non-traditional theater in any sense. The goal is to use Neo-Futurism to break down barriers of divisions and connect on a personal level in order to affect change in our communities. We also want to create a platform for performing artists to use performance and writing to process what is
happening in the world around them with immediate effect.
Performances vary throughout the season but generally occur on Fridays or Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 6pm with occasional late-night performances on Fridays or Saturdays at 10:30pm or 11pm. Special events may also be added throughout the season.
